Adolescent tends to get along with the other teens that have similar character with them. The groups which each of them made are called peer group. Although they spend they spend their adolescent with them, the groups are split when they enter they twenties. As they become adults, they get a culture shock; there are a myriad of people in a society so they should learn how to cope with the others who do not have similar features. If they try to make a friend as they did in their teen, they can never involve in the society. That’s because, human being has meaning of existence through relationships with the others. Therefore, it is significant to relate with the various kinds of people and spend one’s time with them.
Each people have different background of growth, which make their characteristics various. As a person has relation with them who do not share similar feature, he or she can be flexible to manage the relationship. Also, the one can correct his or her flaws by connecting to various relationships. In other words, people can detect other’s applicable features which do not belong to themselves and correct their demerits because they are stimulated by the other.
Similarly, people also broaden their perspective through having a large relationship. From my experience, I attended a girl’s high school. So my perspective was limited and had a fantasy of boys. Although I entered women’s university, my fantasy had broken completely because the campus life allows me to meet various kinds of people through extracurricular activities. Now I do not have any bias of men and has become more flexible to make a male friend.
Finally, it is also significant to remember that the various backgrounds of growth mean that they have various cultural backgrounds. Generally, people do not know the other field of lives which is not related with them. If a person is magazine editor, it is hard for him or her to notice the lives of financial fields. Having a myriad of relationship will let the people know the other culture so the lives will be flourished.
To sum up, diverse relationship can be beneficial for one in personal dimension; it makes people be flexible to the other, lets them correct the flaws. Moreover, it broadens one’s perspective and provides diverse culture which can be hardly met. Therefore what we have to bear in mind is that we try to avoid being limited in one similar group, and meet various kinds of people as many as possible.
